YOUTH PANEL
In-House Youth Panel
Our in-house Youth Panel gives young people the chance to play an active role in shaping YVA’s work. When a new panel is formed, we use the tuakana/teina model, where previous panel members can stay involved if they choose. They can guide and support the new panel by sharing their knowledge and experiences. Former panellists can also continue contributing to YVA as volunteers, staying connected to the organisation and its work.
The Youth Panel ensures that young people’s voices are at the centre of YVA’s decisions, programme planning, and community initiatives. It’s a practical way for rangatahi to gain skills, make connections, and directly influence the work we do.
Impact:
Our Youth Panel ensures that rangatahi’s voices remain central to YVA’s operations. It also provides participants with valuable experience, preparing them for future roles in advocacy, leadership, governance, and community work.
