Youth Voices Action (YVA) is dedicated to operating with transparency and integrity. To uphold this commitment:

• We disclose any relationships, affiliations, or partnerships that could create a perceived or actual conflict of interest.

• One such partnership is with Lobby for Good (www.lobbyforgood.co.nz), an organisation specialising in policy, research, civics education, and advocacy. This partnership is strategic, leveraging their expertise to complement YVA’s focus on empowering young voices while ensuring YVA does not engage in political activities as a charity.

  • Our General Manager, Erika Harvey, also serves as the Director of Public Affairs for Lobby for Good. This is possible because all roles within YVA, including Erika’s, are part-time, allowing her to work across both organisations. While this dual role strengthens collaboration, we are committed to mitigating any conflicts of interest. No funds from YVA are directed to Lobby for Good unless explicitly outlined in a written agreement that directly benefits YVA’s objectives.

  • To date, work carried out by Lobby for Good on behalf of YVA has been provided as in-kind contributions. This has included assistance with research and the development of civic education content for YVA’s local body politics initiative, which aims to help young people better understand local government and the importance of voting.

• Any paid partnership projects with Lobby for Good will be disclosed and reviewed by our Board. Erika Harvey will abstain from decision-making on matters where a conflict may arise.
