YOUTHFEST!

YouthFest started as Jammin’ in the Park in 2023. Today, it has grown into a major youth-led annual event that kicks off Youth Week in Tauranga Moana. This event celebrates rangatahi talent, ideas, leadership, and connection.

YouthFest (2026 video coming soon!)

YouthFest is shaped by rangatahi, for rangatahi.

Each year, we put the call out across Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty for audition videos of young performers ready to take the stage. We also look for rangatahi doing epic things, from creative projects and business ideas to market stalls, community mahi, and fresh ways to showcase their skills.

Our Youth Panel helps lead the event from start to finish. They shape the design, choose the location, review auditions, select performers, choose the organisations that take part, and decide what stalls and activities will be part of the day.

Together, we kick off Youth Week in Tauranga Moana with a festival that celebrates rangatahi talent, ideas, leadership, and connection.

2026 YouthFest Survey Results

YouthFest 2026 was all about rangatahi voice, connection and community.

As part of the event, Youth Voices Action asked young people to share their thoughts, experiences and ideas with us. We wanted to better understand what rangatahi enjoyed, what matters to them, and what they want to see more of in our community.

At YVA, capturing youth voice is a key part of our kaupapa. We believe young people should help shape the spaces, services and opportunities created for them.

These survey results give us valuable insight into what rangatahi are saying. They will help guide our future events, strengthen our partnerships, and support wider conversations across the youth sector.

We’re grateful to every young person who took the time to share their voice with us.

You can view the YouthFest 2026 survey results below.
